Hoja's son!
In the stories of Nasreddin Hodja, family member who appears often is his wife, Amina. References to his son are found in very few tales.
Read a story where Hodja's son comes into the picture:
One day, Hodja's son was taking an earthen pot to fetch water from the well in the neighbor's house.
Just then, Hodja said, "Hey, come here!"
When the boy reached Hodja, he slapped him hard on his thigh!
Crying, the boy ran off to get the water. Hodja's friend was standing there, watching all this.
He complained to Hodja, "What kind of man are you? The boy hadn't dropped the pot, had he? Then why did you hit him like that for no reason?"
Immediately, Hodja replied, "The beating is necessary now. Otherwise, what is the use of hitting him after he has dropped the pot? Will the broken pot become whole again? Because he received this slap, he will be very careful and return with water in the pot!"
