Hoja's hand writing

The friendship between the King and Hojja did not sit well with many of the palace courtiers. To prevent Hojja from coming to the court, they devised a trick.

They went up to the King and said, "Your Majesty, Hojja doesn't even know how to read or write. Associating with such a person will diminish your own wisdom and abilities."

The King said, "I don't believe what you are saying. I will call him and have him write something right in front of me."

At the King's request, Hojja arrived at the court. The King said, "I am eager to see your beautiful handwriting. Write a letter on this paper here."

Hojja, realizing their trap, said, "Please forgive me, Your Majesty. Five years ago, a fight broke out because of a letter I had written. I took an oath that I would never write anything again."

The courtiers were well-prepared. Immediately, one of them handed the King an old letter that Hojja had supposedly written.

The King ridiculed Hojja, saying, "Shame! There is not a single word in this without a mistake. Don't you know how to write at all?"

Immediately, everyone burst into laughter. Hojja, with a smile, said, "I have deliberately made mistakes in every single word. Because, this is a letter I wrote long ago just to show that one should never make a mistake like this in every word they write!"

At once, only the King and Hojja burst into laughter. The others, defeated, walked away.
