Hodja with a judge !
The people of Hodja's area were unhappy with the verdicts given by the judge. This was because even for small offenses, cruel punishments were being handed out.
Hodja hated him. Yet, when the judge fell ill and was bedridden, a servant came to Hodja's house to seek his help. This was because there was a rumour among the people that Hodja possessed some divine powers.
Hodja and the local people arrived at the judge's house. Hodja said, "The judge is a dead man. So, what can I do?"
Immediately, the people were astonished. "Hodja, what are you saying? He is still very much conscious. Didn't you see him open his eyes and look at you?"
Hodja continued, "A person without a heart is already dead. Haven't all of you said many times that the judge is heartless?"
Hearing this, the judge felt ashamed as he remembered his corrupt tenure. And so, Hodja finally expressed the resentment he had held in his heart for years.
