How to recognise will power?
Once upon a time, the land of Silbaripuram was abundant with many paddy fields. So, it was a common sight to see flocks of birds flying back and forth, depending on these farmlands.
Once, the bird and his family made their home in a small tree near Shankhu's paddy field. These birds were waiting for the paddy to ripen enough to eat.
Every morning, male bird would peck at the paddy grains. Afterwards, he would call out to his mate and young ones -
"If we wait for a week, we can eat our fill of delicious paddy. Until then, let's eat the insects in the field."
A few days later, Shankhu and his wife came there. Shankhu said to his wife -
"We should start harvesting this field tomorrow morning. Tell the workers today itself."
Hearing this, the female bird said to male bird -
"We must leave this place as soon as possible. Since it's a short tree, those coming for the harvest might attack our young ones."
Male bird said calmly -
"There's less chance of workers coming tomorrow. Because Shankhu is someone without clear planning. Since harvesting is happening everywhere in this land at the same time, he should have arranged for workers many days in advance."
The next morning, Shankhu and his wife arrived there -
"Hey, since the workers haven't come, let's ask our relatives to come for the harvest."
Even then, the mother bird chattered anxiously -
"Let's leave here today."
He said bravely -
"Hey, all of these humans' relatives are actually enemies! We are not going anywhere."
When they came the next morning, Shankhu and his wife said -
"All the relatives have cheated us. Let me tell my friends."
At that moment, the female bird got scared -
"It seems like it's time for us to fly away from here."
He consoled her -
"That's just the landowner's feeling. None of his friends are workers. They are just a bunch who talk big."
The next morning, Shankhu and his wife arrived there and spoke like this -
"Even though friends said they would come, no one has reached here. Let's do one thing, let's tell our four sons."
Hearing this, He consoled the agitated bird -
"Hey, his sons won't come to harvest paddy. If so, they would have toiled here even before the workers. They haven't even come to take a look at the field yet."
The next day, when he asked his sons to take the sickles to come to the field with him, the sons expressed displeasure -
"Father, we are not used to going down for the harvest. If we stay in the sun even for a bit, we'll get a headache immediately."
Shankhu started scolding his sons. His wife joined in and supported the sons' talk. Not knowing what to do, Shankhu went to the nearby tea shop in anger and instead of one tea, he took his time and drank three teas. Then, he went in front of the paddy field and said in a low voice -
"I don't need the help of even a single blade of grass. Tomorrow morning, I will start the harvest all by myself!"
It was male bird who got scared hearing this. He said -
"Let's eat as much paddy as we can throughout the day today and when our food pouches are full, we must leave this place with the young ones before it gets dark."
Then, the female bird asked -
"You weren't at all afraid even when he said many times that he would bring a lot of people. Then why are you taking it seriously now that he said he will come alone tomorrow?"
"Hey, earlier he used to take a stand of depending on others. But now, I saw the burning embers of determination in Shankhu's eyes!"
That evening, those birds chirped happily and flew away from there.
Pay attention to the idea.
There are many parasitic organisms in the plant and animal kingdoms that live by depending on others. However, that way is not suitable for humans. It's understandable if sick people depend on others. But there are many men in the country who squander money while their wives, like nurses, toil alone abroad. First, try to do what you can according to your own ability. Aren't all those who have achieved distinct successes the ones who have paved their own paths?
