How to obey your mother?

Once, that young man had a matter of offering a vow at an ancient temple in a far-off land. It would take many days to travel there.

Then his mother said, "How can I send you alone such a long distance? At this age, I can't even walk along with you."

Still, the mother didn't find any peace of mind. That woman prepared her son's bundle, packed rice and water and clothes in it. However, just before he was about to leave, the mother noticed a large crab wandering in the courtyard.

Suddenly, she caught this crab in a pot, closed it, and gave it to her son.

Without asking why, the son obeyed his mother. The young man set off on his journey. After walking a long distance, he grew tired and leaned against the root of a tree in its shade. He opened his cloth bag and drank water. He ate food. But soon, he fell asleep due to exhaustion.

At that time, a cobra slithered to enter a hole in the roots. However, it saw the cloth bag as an obstruction in front of the hole. It knocked it over. Then, the crab in the pot jumped out. Moreover, the snake was angry because the young man's legs were there. As it lunged to bite his leg, the crab jumped and grabbed the snake's neck. Its sharp claws repeatedly pierced the snake.

The young man, in the meantime, had opened his eyes. He was astonished to see this sight. He also realized that obeying his mother had been a blessing.

Moral of the story: A mother's care and blessings will enrich a person's life.
