The united brothers!
Once upon a time, in the kingdom of Silbaripuram, there was a bustling market. Chintu was a merchant there, and he had five sons. When they were children, they were the best of friends. However, as they grew into young men, things changed completely.
The five of them were constantly fighting. Chintu was deeply saddened to see them behaving like enemies—just like a mongoose and a cobra. Around that time, two powerful bullies arrived at the market from a far-off land. They began threatening the other merchants and forcibly taking over their shops.
Anyone who dared to oppose them faced a brutal attack. Seeing the bullies seize shops one by one, Chintu closed his own shop and returned home.
When he called his five sons to discuss the problem, they were only interested in blaming each other. Chintu racked his brain, wondering how to bring them together. Finally, he came up with a clever plan.
He summoned all five and gave them each a long stick, asking them to break it into equal pieces. They all did it very easily. Then, Chintu took five sticks and tied them firmly together with a rope. He handed the bundle to each son and said, "Now, try to break these five sticks bound together."
The bundle was passed from one to another, but not one of them could break it. Then, Chintu said, "Now, all five of you try together at the same time!"
When they applied their combined strength, the five sticks snapped and scattered at once! Immediately, Chintu said, "If you fight alone, your business and your lives will be ruined. But if you stand together, you can chase away those two bullies."
They marched to the market with Chintu. Then, in a sudden "lightning attack," the five brothers drove the bullies away, who ran for their lives!
Seeing this, the merchants and the local people said, "Until now, we thought Chintu’s sons were useless. Let them start various new shops here."
For Chintu and his sons, it was a fresh new beginning.
Moral of the Story
Do not live with the overconfidence that you can achieve everything alone. This world is a platform to share your talents with others. To do that, one must give up their inferiority complex and false pride.
