A Fox defeated the Lion!

Long ago, the entire kingdom of Silbaripuram was a dense forest. One day, a lion was out hunting for prey. He noticed a fox sitting near a rocky crevice, peering intently at something below. The lion crouched patiently, waiting for the perfect moment to pounce.

In reality, a few rabbits had spotted the fox earlier and hidden inside the crevice. The fox was also waiting patiently for his prey to come out. However, as it was evening, the fox noticed the long shadow of the lion falling upon the rocks!

When he stole a glance behind him, he saw the lion ready to spring. The fox realised he couldn't escape by running up the rocks, and there was a deep pit below; even if he jumped, the lion would easily catch him.

He immediately came up with a trick. "O King of the Forest!" he cried out. "I have been meditating at this spot for a long time. I had an inner calling that I would soon meet a heroic death. But I have one final wish—I want a powerful lion to leap through the air and conquer me. My death should be remembered in this forest forever as a grand adventure!"

Hearing this, the lion’s ego was boosted, and he became excited. The fox pressed his body against the rock and turned his back. Watching the lion's shadow as it leaped, the fox jumped down into the pit at the very last microsecond!

The lion hit the hard rock with such immense force that his nose smashed against the stone, and he died on the spot! Though the fox injured his leg and had to limp out of the pit, he managed to escape. Thus, he earned the legendary title of "The Fox who killed a Lion."

Moral of the Story

To escape from a dangerous situation, one must use their intelligence. You must have the courage to keep fighting until the very last moment.
