The problems of a friendship !
Once, Damu, the woodcutter from the land of Silbaripuram, had to go deep into the forest to look for good quality wood. There were many animals living there.
An eagle and a wildcat were friends with a wolf living deep inside the forest. One day, the wolf was attacked by a tiger. However, since the wolf ran a long distance trying to escape, its two friends did not come to know about it.
When Damu walked past the wolf, he heard its cries. Damu felt pity and gave the wolf food and water.
Out of gratitude, the wolf followed Damu. After a few days, the wolf regained its former health. However, at the same time, the eagle and the wildcat were searching for the wolf throughout the forest.
In the meantime, some bird came and informed the eagle that the wolf had started living in the village. Subsequently, the eagle and the wildcat came behind Damu's house at night.
They were both very hungry at that time. The wildcat then said, "You snatch the chicks. I will eat the hen."
Hearing the commotion in the chicken coop, Damu and the wolf came over. Immediately, when the wolf did not even bark once, Damu understood the situation.
Damu took a stick and beat the wolf, driving it away, saying, "I don't need anyone here who came from the forest, followed your scent, and is now trying to make friends here."
The wolf, the eagle, and the wildcat quickly ran back into the forest!
Moral: Even a person who is ready to change might revert to bad habits because of corrupted friends.
